What's wrong with brand new Nissan Altima Hybrid 2.5S?
Lately I have been noticing that Nissan Altima Hybrid 2.5S prices have significantly dropped especially 2009 model.Last week starauction sold brand new 2009 hybrid model for $22,200. There were hardly any bidders. I wanted to bid but was surprised to see lack of interest from bidders and grew apprehensive. I did not bid (I have decided to buy a used Toyota Sienna instead, but that's for another day). Is there any thing wrong with Nissan Altima's Hybrid technology? On autotrader, I noted several Nissan dealership have unsold stock of brand new 2009 Nissan Altima Hybrid 2.5S prices ranging from $23,000 to $26,000 (including freight and other charges but excluding HST). The 2010 hybrid model costs $36,000 MSRP - why is 2009 hybrid selling for so cheap (probably even cheaper than the regular non-hybrid models)? Also, I checked out the used car prices for 2009 hybrid model with about 30,000 kms - it sells for $15,000 (over 50% depreciation in one year?????). Very unusual. Weird actually. Just to let all of you know - these numbers are real. Can anyone explain?
