Thumbs up Gas from US vs. Canada

I was at a "Owner's Night" for the car dealership and someone ask this question which I thought was interesting: "Is the gas the same when you fill up in Canada versus the U.S.?" The service manager said no. He said that if you bought a Canadian car then buy gas in Canada. The gas in the US is different and would affect the Canadian car. This is the same with US cars (i.e. don't fill US car with Canadian gas) as they are built different to take in the gas from US gas stations.Anybody heard of this before? I always filled up gas when I go cross-border shopping and now I'm hesitant with filling up gas with my new car. Thanks for any information.
