Default GOUT - For those who experienced it, is there a good way of getting rid of it?

Found out before the holidays that I have gout in my toe and foot area. Damn it hurts!Originally thought I had sprained my toe or took a hockey puck to that area playing a game the evening before. Checked into a walk-in clinic and confirmed I have gout. I was prescribed Indomethacin to relieve the pain and was finally able to sleep through the night.I've been watching what I eat for the past three weeks and things seem to be going well, but got a sudden flare up of it a couple of days ago. I've read about the foods I have to stay away from, but wondering if anyone who has experienced this if there is some way of getting rid of the swelling and pain as soon as possible. I've been eating cherries, green lettuces, and chicken primarily. Also, drinking lots of water.Any advice? Was there something in particular that really helped?
